Yoroiden Samurai Warriors (or Ronin Warriors) hit television screens in the late 1980s. It centered around five teenaged boys who find themselves drawn into an ongoing, centuries-old war which began in feudal Japan. Way back then The Ancient, protector of our world, defeated the evil Talpa, but he couldn't destroy Talpa's armor. So The Ancient did the next best thing, he broke it up into nine individual armors. Fast forward to modern times - Talpa, unhappy with his defeat, has spent many years trying to return and conquer the earth. He succeeds in claiming four of the armors (containing the bushido virtues) and their bearers, who become known as the Dynasty. But the remaining armors (containing elemental virtues) have gone to five young men, who become the earth's last hope against the Dynasty.
Yaoi
For such an old series, there's still a lot of YST/RW yaoi out there. The Troopers consist of five guys and that can make things awkward when it comes to pairings. Some writers get around the problem by adopting the "share and share alike" rule, where the guys sleep around with each other. Others do it by leaving Kento out of the equation, and yet others pair Ryo with Mia, leaving the other four boys to partner up. My personal preference is for the Seiji/Ryo pairing. |
