SERIES: Angel Sanctuary

NOTES:
Rosiel is an inorganic angel, the younger twin brother of Alexiel, and he begins life as a very ugly being. His transformation into a creature of beauty occurs when his body is formed from his sister's body. Alexiel loves God, and not in an angelic way, but God, apparently, favors her brother, especially now he's not just a lump of meat. According to some accounts, God's preference for Rosiel is what drives Alexiel to rebellion.

This is where I begin to get foggy so far as plot goes, so bear with me.

Rosiel is sealed away by Alexiel. As I understand it, she does this because Rosiel has made her promise to kill him should he ever begin to change. Alexiel can't bring herself to keep to the promise, so she has her brother sealed away instead. Before this happens, Rosiel acquires a "son" in the form of Katan, one of the cursed Grigori. Going against the law of God, Rosiel creates a body for Katan. He takes Katan on as a protegé and, because of his desire to be close to Rosiel, Katan quickly works his way up through the ranks to become a Cherubim. It is Katan who sets about the task of breaking the seal and freeing his beloved Rosiel. Unfortunately, the released Rosiel is on a slow slide towards insanity.

The complete story of Angel Sanctuary is complex and even Rosiel's part in it is hard to sum up in a couple of short paragraphs.
